Sunday April 21, 2013BUSK is grateful to the members of the Motor Accident Solicitors Society (MASS) for their support which allowed BUSK to carry out in depth research into coach and bus structures and vehicle design, resulting in a high profile campaign highlighting the need for school children to be correctly and safely restrained when travelling in cars, coaches and minibuses. Seat belt legislation making belts compulsory in coaches and minibuses that carried children in the UK followed. In particular BUSK was able to identify the various types of injuries children sustain as a direct result of being transported in vehicles using adult safety belt systems.
BUSK has been able to move forward significantly to improve childrens' safety since it was founded in February 1993, however, without the support of MASS the very foundation required for us to build on would have no doubt meant that it would have taken a lot longer for the organisation to bring about the vital changes that currently safeguard children today.
