BUSK Benchmark member comes tops again!
Wednesday May 04, 2016Family owned Anthony’s Travel are once again helping to put Halton on the map by collecting two gold awards at the Prestigious UK Coach Awards held in Manchester on Thursday 21st April 2016.
Anthony’s Travel founded in 1985 by Anne Bamber and the late Tony Bamber and based in Cormorant Drive, Runcorn collected the prestigious UK Coach Award 2016 for best small coach fleet Operator and UK Coach Awards 2016 for innovation in safety plus were a finalist in another three sections.
Managing Partner of Anthony’s Travel Richard Bamber commented, “Its a wonderful achievement for everyone at Anthony’s to win these awards, its a testament to the hard work of all our team, our loyal customers, community partners and our commitment to providing high quality affordable coach travel for all. Its the second year in succession we have won the UK Coach Awards Small Operator of the year, the fourth time in total plus we have been a finalist in the best fleet section for an amazing seven years!. What’s particularly pleasing is the nominations can only come from customers, so its our own clients have taken the trouble to nominate us to which we find humbling and are most thankful." Richard continued, "Following on, nominees are then asked for a host of additional information, references, subject to a mystery shopper exercise and then scrutinised by a panel of judges made up of industry experts to come up with the finalists, a process that takes six months in total.”
The UK Coach Awards 2016 Innovation in Safety Award was presented to Anthony’s for their continued investment in technology and proactive management to endeavour to provide safety as standard.
All of Anthony’s Travel coach fleet are fitted with full CCTV systems, vehicle location systems, Driver telematic system monitoring Driver performance and behaviour, plus Alcolock UK V3 units where every Driver has to pass multiple breath tests throughout the day before the coach will start. Also Driver safety incentive schemes are run each month and various training days.
The run of awards wasn’t finished in Manchester, the following evening at the Holiday Inn Hotel Runcorn Anthony’s collected The Halton Business Award 2016 for Excellence in marketing which is a great honour for Anthony’s competing against companies with more larger budgets but has developed an effective marketing strategy which enables maximisation of product awareness and brand on a local and national level. The Marketing award completed a hat trick of awards in less than thirty six hours.
